The film captures a bespoke ‘Rube Goldberg’ machine in action, named after the American cartoonist who illustrated deliberately complex inventions that were designed to perform a simple task. Using a custom-built chain reaction device, the film takes you beyond the licences, patents and investment that are central to Cambridge Enterprise by illustrating the impact of commercialising University research.
